Nurturing your skin: Our Favourite Natural Stretch Mark Oils


As incredible as pregnancy is, frustratingly, a lot of us get to experience the joys of stretch marks, caused by stretching of the skin as your baby grows - talk about earning our stripes! While stretch marks cannot be completely prevented, some natural oils can help moisturize the skin and improve i'ts elasticity. Here are a few of our favourite natural oils during pregnancy:

1. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is known for its moisturizing properties and is often used to improve skin elasticity. Apply a small amount of organic, extra virgin coconut oil to the belly and other areas prone to stretch marks.

2. Bio Oil: A blend of plant oils with Vitamin A and E, this all time classic stimulates the growth of new skins cells while soothing and calming. Helps prevent the formation of stretch marks.

3. Weleda Stretch Mark Oil: Often praised for its effectiveness during pregnancy. Helps to retain elasticity as the skin stretches and to correct the appearance of stretch marks. Contains geranium and Lavender valued for their skin healing properties along with organic arnica flowers renowned for their natural anti inflammatory properties. 

4. Sweet Almond Oil: Sweet almond oil is a lightweight oil that is easily absorbed by the skin. It helps keep the skin stay hydrated and help reduce itchiness. Massage a small amount of almond oil onto your belly and other areas prone to stretch marks.

5. Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil closely resembles the natural oils produced by our skin. It can help improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Gently massage a few drops of jojoba oil onto your belly and other affected areas.
